    A white kiwi was born recently at Mt Bruce, in the Wairarapa, New Zealand. Its name is Manukura which means ‘of chiefly status’. Mt Bruce had its best breeding season ever with 15 chicks being born.
    This white kiwi is very rare. The last one died seven years ago. Kiwis only live in the wild in New Zealand. They are in zoos in other countries. They are endangered.
